Various Stages of Construction Projects

Planning and Designing

Preconstruction

Construction Project Manager

The construction project manager manages all the construction project stages, ensuring the project is on the right track, meets quality standards and is within budget. They maintain coordination between jobsite and office stakeholders, and resolve any issues that may emerge.

Engineer and Architect

Whether large or small, every construction requires a licensed engineer or architect. They design the project and coordinate the engineering disciplines.

Construction Manager

The construction manager lays focus on project management in construction. They oversee day-to-day operations on the jobsite so that all units run smoothly. Construction site management includes supervision of the work crews, management of site safety and ensuring whether the project is built in accordance with the plans and specifications.

Project Owner

The role of a project owner is to finance the project and hire the right team to design, build and execute the project. They also define the project scope, determine the budget and approve major decisions right through the construction.

Construction Estimator

The responsibility of a construction estimator is to estimate the cost of a project. They also analyze plans, labor, materials and time requirements to give accurate estimate, determining the project’s budget.

General Contractor

The role of a general contractor is to hire subcontractors, procure materials, and ensure the job is executed in accordance with the regulatory requirements.

Subcontractors

Subcontractors carry out specific tasks, such as HVAC work, plumbing and electrical. Since specialized components are required in construction project roles, subcontractors work in their respective fields. That way, each component of the project is completed to its high standards.
